On the road again - The radiator worked - for a few miles. Until our makeshift lines -fabricated from a long piece of aluminum tubing and a Ford Truck Radiator hose started blowing off the radiator with spectacular force. It lost the water up the road near a winery. I returned to the junkyard in the SS and scavenged more hose clamps from the Hantavirus Scout. Duff used the winery's water hose and refilled the system. It blew different connections a few more times.

Next to the last stop is pictured above. We were nearly out of water. We got up the road into an even more precarious area without cell phone coverage when we decided we were out of tricks. CK and I drove about 15 miles to Middletown to get a signal and call for a flatbed. Of course there was some confusion as to where exactly the Special was - on the border of three different AAA jurisdictions. The truck took eons to arrive. The flatbed hauled Duff, Raylene and the Special back to the Bay Area... It turns out there was a crack in the block charging the cooling system with exhaust gas pressure...
There's plenty more - from day one - including the party at the D.I.
